On November 29th, in an email posted to his Twitter account, Jack Dorsey announced that he had resigned as CEO of the company. In the email, Dorsey provided 3 reasons why he made the decision to leave. The first and second reasons involved his faith in Parag Agrawal, his appointed successor as CEO, and Bret Taylor, the newly appointed Board Chair. His final justification was for the Twitter team itself.
In a statement Dorsey said, “I’ve decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders,” without providing any further details. Before the decision, Dorsey was acting as CEO of both Twitter and Square, his financial services and digital payments company. The announcement came as a surprise to the Twitter community and investors. More importantly, Dorsey’s vague statements left people wondering what the billionaire entrepreneur is moving onto next.
It turns out that Dorsey’s next moves aren’t too difficult to predict. In fact, he has already explained his future goals earlier this year
